Overview & Reviews
The value-priced Work Truck package is now available on both regular and extended cabs. Base models pick up cruise control, a sound system, chrome rear bumper and chrome wheels. An automatic transmission is now standard on LS models, and the V6 is no longer an option in this trim. Other updates include new polished aluminum wheels and 265/70R16 tires with either black sidewalls or raised white lettering. The Quadrasteer option no longer requires the buyer to order trailering equipment. There's also a new tonneau cover, and inside, you'll find underseat storage. Finally, Chevrolet has deleted the Silverado's passenger-side outside door lock.
- Roomy extended-cab models, strong V8 engines, innovative features.
- Cheap interior materials, questionable build quality.

2004 Z71 - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By dunc - June 25 - 10:00 amTraded in my 03 Pathfinder so I could haul my boat. Hauls good, wish I had gone with the 5.3L towing package. Clunking noise in transmission gets crazy - dealership says Chevy has designed a new slip yolk to rid of this noise (well see). Overall a great purchase

By peezul - May 24 - 10:00 amThis is my 4th chevy truck,I have always had great reliable long lasting chevy trucks (avg 7 yrs). This new silverado crew cab is by far the most powerful, and refined truck for the money.

I love my first truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Brewdog2001 - April 23 - 10:00 amI bought my first truck after having driven cars all my life, and its the best thing I have ever done. This truck drives more like a car than any truck I have ever been in. The gas milage is good for a truck, considering I am used to a 4 cylinder. But the power, the smoothness of the ride, and the overall styling of the truck make an eye catching upgrade to your day to day driving.

Good truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By chris - April 20 - 7:23 pmBought the truck used with 37000 on it. It has been very reliable up to this point, I now have 60000 miles. I recently purchased a 29ft camping trailer and the truck did fine towing it. Maintaining highway speed was not a problem with the 6000lbs in tow. My only complaint is the brake system. Ive tried new rotors and three different types of brake pads, but the brakes dont give you confidence. I wish I had the Hydro-boost system, the vaccum assist brakes are terrible.

Great Truck! - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Lourot - April 18 - 7:43 amI have over 70,000 miles on this truck and it has never seen the inside of a shop for repairs. Routine maintenance is all thats require. Replaced the factory tires with Michelin ltx when they wore out and that has improved the ride and wet traction considerably.

Nice truck from Chevy. - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By John33444 - February 27 - 2:00 amThis truck is very fun to drive. In your life you will find trucks you love to drive. This is one of them. It can go of road, and is very able. It handles like a dream. I have never got stuck, but I did have to repair it once or twice.
